Dear neighbors, As union nurses at Logan Health, we are reaching out to raise awareness about the significant staffing shortages we are experiencing at our hospital before they become a full-fledged crisis. We believe that under current Logan Health management, led by CEO Craig Lambrecht, Logan Health is not the community hospital it used to be. We need your help to ensure that it remains the beacon of quality care that you and your families deserve. The cost of living in the Flathead Valley has risen rapidly, and Logan Health is not keeping up with this challenge. As nurses, we can no longer afford to live in the area, and this is causing a shortage of more than 121 open nursing positions. This staffing shortage could have serious consequences for patient care in our community - if we don't have enough nurses, what will that mean for you and your loved ones if you face a medical emergency that requires urgent care? We are calling on hospital leadership to work with us to implement meaningful, sustainable solutions to this staffing crisis. We urge them to invest in our community by settling a fair union contract and accept our proposals for wages that will help recruit and retain local nurses, and attract qualified nursing staff to our area. Local nurses - not costly out-of-state traveler nurses - can and should be doing the work for fair, competitive pay. At the bargaining table, we believe that Logan Health is not taking our union's proposals seriously. Furthermore, we have concerns about the upcoming integration with Billings Clinic, considering its reported lack of financial stability and the potential impact on patient care. We need your support to ensure that Logan Health makes the right decisions for our community. We ask that you visit our website at kalispellnurses.org and sign our petition calling on Logan Health administration to settle a fair union contract. Help us ensure that the voices of frontline nurses are heard and that Logan Health lives up to its mission of "improving health, comfort and life" for the patients we serve. Thank you for your support.
