PAD ADVESMINT WHEN IT COMES TO MONTANA HOSPITALS, IT'S A TALE OF TWO CEOS. Craig Lambrecht, MD President & CEO Logan Health, Kalispell Wade Johnson, FACHE Chief Executive Officer St. Peter's Health, Helena The other CEO told his hospital's nurses that the hospital would "hold our ground until they begin to face reality." He has not been to the bargaining table in 20 months of negotiations. One CEO quickly settled a three-year contract that includes annual wage increases for every nurse and spent a full day at the bargaining table with the nurses. He said in a statement that he "greatly value[s] our nurses and the important work they do, and we're grateful for the collaborative relationship we've built over the past few years. We appreciate the opportunity to have open and honest dialogue and reach an effective solution together". He even threw a party for the nurses once the contract was signed. Our reality as Logan Health RNs is that we are among the lowest paid nurses compared to other Montana hospitals that are similar in size and scope, and we are losing nurses to other hospitals that pay higher wages. Nurses are coming to work short staffed and desperately need a contract that will recruit and retain caregivers to the Flathead Valley. It's possible to settle a union contract that's good for nurses, patients, and the community. It just takes a leader to make it happen. It's time for Dr. Lambrecht to be that leader.
