DERN & SPRINGCRE K OPEN HOUSE Designed to Save Lives The intersection of Dern and Springcreek Roads sees a high volume of crashes that have resulted in serious injury or death. In the last 11 years, nearly 50 crashes have occurred at the intersection, including one fatality. The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) will be making much-needed safety improvements to the Dern/Springcreek intersection by installing a roundabout in the spring of 2021. Wal USHGHWAY 2 MDT recognizes the impact this project will have in the Flathead Valley. As such, an informal opportunity will be provided to share information, demonstrate the extensive study that went into the design, collect feedback, and answer questions during two open houses. These events will be held on March 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. both at the Hampton Inn Kalispell located at 1140 U.S. Highway 2 West.
