PAID ADVERTISEMENT What's Happening to your SHORE Below is the latest propaganda from Brian Lipscomb of Energy Keepers Inc. (EKI) and Jim Elser of the University of Montana Flathead Lake Bio Station (FLBS). This is the last paragraph of the FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) filing by Energy Keepers Inc, filed on Friday, August 26, 2023. EKI's operation of SKQ Dam to meet the unprecedented condition of WY 2023 (weather year 2023) have been prudent and are within the authorizations of the License. It is also important to note that EKI does not see WY 2023 conditions as a one-off event. WY 23 conditions reflect ongoing changing climatic conditions. As EKI continues to adjust to these changing conditions, the maintaining of Lake elevation in the top one foot will not be possible and in fact may result in catastrophic outcomes. EKI and others have continued to encourage lake shore dock owners to adjust their infrastructure to accommodate these changing conditions. Respectfully submitted, Brian Lipscomb | Energy Keepers, Inc. Chief Executive Officer The below information was presented by Dr. Jim Elser, FLBS Director & Member of the US National Academy of Sciences, in his State of the Lake talk at FLBS on August 4, 2023. In light of these challenging limnological, hydrological, and climatic conditions, FLBS recommends that water managers, political leaders, and community members engage in constructive dialogue about adjustments in operations, infrastructure, expectations, and attitudes to cope with the possibility that the difficult situation we are experiencing in 2023 might recur in coming years. Obviously these two men are in sync with a misguided direction for Flathead Lake. They are suggesting we have to accept THEIR future. Do not get sucked into their conclusions. Changes in climate have been happening for millions of years. Even with this year's draught Hungry Horse Dam is still within inches of May's near full pool at normal conditions. Remember five feet of water from Hungry Horse Dam fills Flathead Lake nearly one foot. If you have supported the Bio Station, as I have, it's time to rethink your position. As far as Energy Keepers THEY ARE NOT OUR FRIENDS.
