BUREAU OF RECLAMATION ANNOUNCEMENT The Bureau of Reclamation continues to conduct modernization work on top of Hungry Horse Dam in Montana. Reclamation anticipates to begin the replacement of the gantry crane in early October 2022 through late November 2022. In accordance with 43 CFR Part 423.12(a), Reclamation is announcing intermediate temporary closures on Hungry Horse Dam Road on top of the dam. Both lanes of traffic will remain open except when cranes are loading and unloading the trucks. During that time, both lanes will be closed for approximately 30 minutes, or for as long as required to safely load or unload crane components. During the temporary closure, all vehicles will be stopped on the roadway prior to entering onto the dam by the flaggers and/or portable traffic lights. Traffic will not be stopped on the dam for any road closures. For more information, contact Bill Dykes, field office manager at 406-387-5241 ext. 313.
