BONNEVILLE POWER ADMINISTRATION ANNOUNCEMENT: Crow Creek "Grantree" and Post Creek "Cable" land acquisitions to protect fish and wildlife in Western Montana The Bonneville Power Administration is funding the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Nation to purchase two properties in Lake County, Montana: 78-acres called "Crow Creek" or "Grantree," and 30-acres called Post Creek" or Cable" (both properties have two names). When the purchases are complete, CSKT will own and manage the property for conservation purposes and the U.S. government, through BPA, will hold a conservation easement to ensure the habitat on the property is protected and conserved in perpetuity. Protecting this land will benefit fish and wildlife. BPA is legally required to fund property acquisitions like these to partially mitigate for the effects of development and operating the Hungry Horse Dam on fish and wildlife. A map and fact sheet that was mailed to local area landowners is available on BPA's land acquisition announcements page here: https://www.bpa.gov/ efw/FishWildlife/Land/Pages/Land-Acquisition-Announcements.aspx. For more information, contact BPA project manager Cecilia Brown at 503- 230-3462 or ckbrown@bpa.gov. You can also call the BPA Communications department toll-free at 800-622-4625. Please refer to the "Crow Creek/ Grantree" and "Post Creek/Cable" conservation easements.
