Our Kids. Our Future KALISPELL PUBLIC SCHOOLS THANK YOU, FLATHEAD VALLEY VOTERS! Dear Neighbors and Families of the Flathead Valley, HIGH SCHOOL LEVY APPROVED: A HISTORIC TURNAROUND! With heartfelt appreciation, we want to thank each and every voter who participated in the May 6 high school levy election. This community's engagement created a remarkable turnaround from last year's results, transforming a failed 2024 attempt into a successful 2025 approval! The numbers tell an inspiring story of community dialogue and understanding: Overall "Yes" votes increased to 55.57%-a 10.22% increase from 45.35% in 2024 4,125 more "Yes" votes were cast this year (11,641 total) Overall voter turnout was 49.5% - the largest turnout in recent elections A VALLEY-WIDE EFFORT What makes this victory particularly meaningful is how it truly became a movement across our entire High School District, with every partner district contributing to the school district's shared success: Every single district showed significant growth in support - collectively each district increasing by an average of over 10 percentage points The overwhelming response across all areas demonstrated that this was not about geography and distance - it was about shared values! As the real stories from our high schools were shared, something remarkable happened. Neighbors talked to neighbors. Parents connected with teachers. Students shared their experiences and hopes with the community. The result was not just about votes, it was about relationships formed and strengthened across our entire valley. This levy effort revealed something profound: sharing stories of students striving, teachers inspiring, and programs changing lives, bringing us back to what we all value most-our children. The vote reflects a community that came together to support excellence in education for all. WHAT YOUR SUPPORT MEANS Approval of this levy provides approximately $2.9 million in additional funding to maintain and build upon educational programs, course offerings, and teaching positions that have been developed over decades. Most importantly, this funding will prevent the elimination of over 100 course offerings and 21 teaching positions that provide our graduates with the opportunities they need for success in career and college. TO ALL VOTERS: WE VALUE YOUR VOICE To everyone who voted "YES"-thank you for standing with our students and educators. Your support demonstrates a deep commitment to educational excellence that will benefit our entire community for generations to come. To everyone who voted "NO"--we genuinely appreciate your engagement in this important civic process. Your perspective is valuable and helps us reflect on how we can better serve all members of our community. We invite you to continue the conversation about our shared educational priorities and welcome your input as we move forward together. MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER The community engagement sparked by the levy campaign created valuable connections that will continue to strengthen the district moving forward. The "YES" vote wasn't the end goal-it was the critical foundation we needed to continue building a student experience that provides graduates with the best opportunities for career and college success. The Board of Trustees is committed to honoring the trust our voters have placed in us through continued transparent, responsible stewardship of these resources. This successful levy provides the foundation we need to continue the work of making our schools and our community even better.
