About
Flathead Special Education Cooperative is a full service cooperative for children from ages three to twenty one. It presently serves sixteen member school districts in Flathead and Lincoln counties. FSEC is governed by an Executive and Management Board comprised of appointed representatives from member districts.
FSEC offers special education services to member schools depending on each district's needs. The Cooperative employs school psychologists, speech/language pathologists, occupational therapists, physcial therapists, and various consultants and aides as needed. It helps provide special education and related services, professional development, technical assistance in matters relating to special education, and collaboration with outside agencies.
Children in need of special education services are evaluated by a team of school and FSEC prfoessionals. In addition to conducting assessments and evaluations, these team members are also active in developing Individualized Education Plans, implementing therapy and intervention strategies, and supporting parents and school professionals in creating positive learning environments that lead to student success.
