Pediatric Critical Care
Margaret Satchell, MD, joined Logan Health in October 2016 to care for critically ill young patients. Dr. Satchell serves as medical director for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Logan Health Children's and is proud to be a member of its team of more than 40 pediatric specialists. Prior to Kalispell, Dr. Satchell worked at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, where she was an assistant professor in pediatric critical care medicine with the Kravis Children’s Hospital. She completed her medical degree at Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire in 1995, and went on to pediatric residency and critical care fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. During fellowship, her research focused on brain injury, specifically dealing with ways to minimized neuron death after closed head trauma. This work was done in association with the NICHD (National Institute of Child Health and Human Development) and the Safar Center for Resuscitation Research at the University of Pittsburgh. In 2001 Dr. Satchell was appointed as a clinical instructor of pediatric critical care medicine with Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and then made the move to Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2002. Prior to medical school, she cared for patients as a clinical dietitian at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, and at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. In her time away from the hospital, she enjoys reading, travel, skiing, hiking and adventures with her friendly beagle, Barley.
