STEVE DAINES HAS AN ABYSMAL RECORD WHEN IT COMES TO PUBLIC LANDS. NOW THAT HE'S FIGHTING FOR RE-ELECTION, DAINES IS POSING AS A SELF-PROCLAIMED "PUBLIC LAND PROTECTOR." DON'T BE FOOLED. Daines' record tells the true story he doesn't want you to hear - that he has time and again put our public lands and outdoor way of life in jeopardy. Judge for yourself: IN 2019, DAINES SAID HE SUPPORTED Willam Perry Pendley as director of the Bureau of Land Management, which oversees around 8 million acres of public land in Montana. Pendley is an outspoken advocate for selling off public lands. He also tried to overturn Montana's stream access law, defended a company that wants to drill in an area right next to Glacier National Park, and, as acting director of BLM, opened 95% of public lands in central Montana to oil and gas. IN 2017 HE INTRODUCED A BILL that would have stripped protection from nearly 500,000 acres of revered public lands in western and central Montana. The bipartisan 2020 University of Montana Public Lands Survey found that 8% of Montanans support this bill that would have resulted in the biggest rollback of public land protection in Montana history. IN 2015 HE CAST THE DECIDING VOTE in favor of an amendment IN 2018 AND 2019, DAINES BLO0CKED the Blackfoot Clearwater Stewardship Act from receiving a Senate floor vote. Adding nearly 80,000 acres to the Bob Marshall, Scapegoat, and Mission Mountains Wilderness Area, this bill is supported by 75% of Montanans, according to the 2020 UM Public Lands Survey. that would have enabled the federal government to sell off the Bob Marshall, the Scapegoat, the Selway-Bitterroot, and all other wilderness areas, wildlife refuges, national forests, and conservation lands in the U.S. STEVE DAINES IS NO PUBLIC LAND CHAMPION. SAY NO ON NOVEMBER 3RD. Paid for by Wild Montana Action Fund (wildmontanaaction.org) and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.
