EPA Issues a Proposed Plan for Cleanup of CFAC Site Proposed Plan On June 1, 2023 the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a Proposed Plan for Cleanup of the Columbia Falls Aluminum Company Site. The plan summarizes work to date and work that EPA proposes for cleanup (the Preferred Alternative). The plan and a short fact sheet are available online at www.epa.gov/superfund/columbia-falls. Printed copies are available at the ImaginelF Library at 130 6th Street W. Public Comment Period A 60-day public comment period runs from June 1 to July 31, 2023. EPA will review and consider all comments and, in consultation with the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, will move forward with the Preferred Alternative, modify it, or select another alternative. Comments will be addressed in a Responsiveness Summary in the final Record of Decision for the site. You may give verbal comments at the meeting or send written comments to EPA's Community Involvement Coordinator, Missy Haniewicz (see email address below).
