US EPA Announces Technical Assistance Grant Availability The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Region 8 has received a Letter of Intent from The Coalition for a Clean CFAC to apply for a Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) for the Columbia Falls Aluminum Company (CFAC) Superfund site. By law, only one grant for up to $50,000 may be awarded to a citizens' group at any one site on the Superfund National Priorities List. Because of this limitation and to ensure that all community views are represented in a recipient group, EPA encourages all citizens' groups interested in applying for a Technical Assistance Grant at the CFAC Superfund site to combine and file a single application. Groups that are interested in consolidation for the TAG should contact: Coalition for a Clean CFAC C/O Phil Matson 1037 Raven Lane Columbia Falls, MT. 59912 Email: Coalition@cleanCFAC.org Phone: 406) 756-8993 Website: https://cleancfac.org/ United States Environmental Protection Agency If the groups do not want to or are unable to form a coalition, each group must submit a Letter of Intent to EPA before the first 30-day public notice period expires, which begins with the publication of this notice. If a coalition cannot be formed, all groups will have 30 days to submit their official application. Groups that require additional time to draft a Letter of Intent or to file an application may submit a written request for an extension to EPA for consideration. Additional information may be obtained from Sisay Ashenafi, Project Officer, 303-312-6138.
