About
For centuries the Swan has played host to a colorful variety of explorers and adventures seeking solitude or wealth in its rugged mountains and cascading streams. As you hike the Mission Mountains Wilderness or leisurely kayak on Swan Lake, listen to the wind and you may hear the echoed voices of trappers and wilderness homesteaders. Today, the Swan still welcomes adventurers and explorers from around the world seeking an outdoor experience that is uniquely Montana.
Open May thru October, Laughing Horse Lodge is nestled at the base of the Swan Range and the Bob Marshall Wilderness at the southern end of Swan Lake. We are conveniently located on Montana Highway 83, between Missoula and Kalispell (Yellowstone and Glacier National Park) providing a perfect base for three-season outdoor adventure in Glacier Country. Air travelers fly into Kalispell's Glacier International Airport, located 35 miles from the Lodge, or into Missoula - a beautiful 2 hour drive from the Lodge. Enjoy the summer twilight in the quiet garden, and when the fall air begins to chill, snuggle up with a good book and a hot toddy or spin some tall tales in the library/pub.
